Forgive me if I'm repeating myself (I feel like I've commented on this before), but I've noticed that Optimus seems much more serious than he was in the G1 series. Not that Peter's portrayal didn't always carry the level of seriousness Prime's character needed to be the leader we all know and love. But especially in TF Prime-- well, Ratchet, as he put it in Season One, never saw Prime laugh (among other things). Being an avid fan since I was ten, I can't help but miss the lightheartedness the G1 writers allowed him without going overboard. That said, Peter's portrayal of Optimus Prime has made him the most beloved character ever conceived and that's why we love him. :)

Does anyone else find it interesting that both Leonard Nimoy AND Peter Cullen played iconic characters whose respective deaths resulted in an uproarious demand by their fans to correct such atrocious over sites? I can picture Leonard reading the '86 TF movie script, shaking his head and saying: "Perhaps I should remind these people what happened after the Wrath of Khan was released."

I, for one, actually
miss the lightheartedness Peter conveyed when he voiced Optimus Prime in the
original series. That such a compassionate, wise and powerful leader could
launch into rare comedic moments-- like when he laughs at his frustrated arch foe declaring:
"Your aim's improving, Megatron!" ["Countdown to
Extinction"]-- made me love him even more because the writers had the
sense not to overdo it. That said, I never would have seen the Bay movies, or
TF Prime for that matter, if it hadn't been for Peter's reprisal of the role
that made both him and Optimus Prime beloved the world over. For that, I will
always be thankful. :)

Wow......! Every time I hear the man speak, I get teary-eyed, for the simple reason that Peter is so appreciative of his fans. I didn't know his brother died this past year, but I never get tired of listening him tell how his brother Larry-- a Vietnam Veteran and TRUE hero in every sense of the word-- gave him the advice that has made Peter's portrayal of Optimus as endearing and memorable as it has been and always will be.

Hey, sorry, gotta disagree. Cullen's magnificant Prime voice does NOT sound like it did back in the early to mid 80's. It, nowadays, sounds aged, thoughtful, mored embodied. It's exactly as it should be; an iconic 1980's cartoon voice given the proper aging for those that grew up on it to hear it with maturity. When I first heard the opening to Bay's first film spoken by Cullen I immediately thought "after countless eons of war, this is how Optimus Prime SHOULD sound". When I first heard him in the movie say to 'Sam' "My name is Optimus Prime" I 'WOO'ed out loud which quickly led to other audience members whooting & hollering. Loved it. But no, Prime doesn't sound quite as he did back then, he sounds better and more accurate for the role.

Hi, I love Peter Cullen, he seems to be such a genuine person and I would love to meet him. I love the Transformers series and movies that he has contributed to aswell as all the other shows he has been part of over the years. truly an inspirational man who apparently had much influence over my childhood and is now becoming part of my son's.

PS. Pity Disney have replaced him as Eeyore. Downright wrong if you ask me.

I'm a big fan of Peter Cullen and I love watching transformers prime a lot!! But I wanted to say that Peter Cullen is the soul of optimus prime and Peter Cullen is the best actor EVER!!
